Ethan Meuser scored 16 points to lead four Wyoming Seminary players in double figures Monday afternoon when the Blue Knights defeated McLean from Potomac, Md., 60-41, in a non-league boys basketball game.
The win was the fifth straight for Wyoming Seminary. The Blue Knights, ranked second among Big Schools in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Power Rankings of District 2 teams, completed the non-league portion of their schedule with a 6-2 record.
Meuser scored 13 points in the first half when Wyoming Seminary built a 34-19 lead.
Jeremy Callahan made all 8 of his fourth-quarter free throws and all 10 of his second-half attempts. He finished 11-for-12 from the line with 13 points.
Aiden Murphy had 11 points and Todd Phillips had 10. Phillips did all of his scoring in the first half.
Wyoming Area 53, Forest City 50
Wyoming Area went to Forest City and posted its third win of the season, surpassing the victory total for all of last season.
Jesse Mikoliczyk went 7-for-7 from the line in the fourth quarter to complete a 17-point effort. Sammy Solomon added 15 points and Cole Coolbaugh added 10.
Justin D’Antonio had 16 points to lead Forest City.
West Scranton 64, Nanticoke 61
West Scranton charged to a 38-20 halftime lead at Nanticoke, then held on from there.
Cayden Merrifield scored 19 points as the Invaders won their eighth straight. West Scranton, which debuted in the Riverfront Sports Super Six Power Rankings Sunday as the No. 6 Big School team, improved to 8-1.
Londall Wright (16), Brandon Barnes (14) and Lewin Fernandez also scored in double figures for the Invaders.
Jake Krupinski led Nanticoke with 19 points. Sincere Shilh added 13.
Dallas 69, Old Forge 50
Austin Finarelli scored 19 points to lead Dallas.
Jack Farrell added 17 points in the win.
Dallas, ranked third among Super Six Big Schools, won its sixth straight to improve to 6-1.
Sean Donovan led Old Forge with 14 points.
Wilkes-Barre Area 64, Williamsport 46
Wilkes-Barre Area opened a 39-22 halftime lead at home and had three players finish with at least 15 points.
Blake Masker led the Wolfpack with 20 points. Cole Walker had 17 and Brandon Hall 15.
Nassir Jones led Williamsport with 18 points.
Honesdale 62, Riverside 50
Honesdale won the non-league game at home.
