Trojans use Trahjan Krupinski to establish inside game

As strong as Nanticoke is on the perimeter, John Beggs is no different than many coaches in that he wants his Trojans to establish the inside game first.

That’s where 6-foot-4 senior center Trahjan Krupinski, Nanticoke’s Astra Wealth Advisors Spotlight Player of the Game, comes into play.

“He’s the guy who establishes the inside for us,” Beggs said. “We try to work inside-out, so he’s a very important part of our team.”

So important, that Krupinski was a second-team division all-star, according to, and a first-team choice by coaches last season when Nanticoke won the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 title.

With the Trojans tied for first place – they’ll settle that tie, for now at least, in tonight’s TV game at 7 against visiting Nanticoke – Krupinski is again filling a vital role.

Krupinski is the team’s top rebounder at 9.1 per game and second-leading scorer at 10.6 points while hitting 75 percent of his free throws.

“He’s also shooting our highest percentage on field goals because he takes good shots that are close to the paint,” Beggs said.

Krupinski, who also plays baseball at Nanticoke, has helped the Trojans build a 10-4 division and 15-4 overall record. Nanticoke is the fourth-ranked Big School Boys team in District 2 in the Astra Wealth Advisors Super Six Power Rankings.
