Jake Curnow, one of the leaders of Lakeland’s turnaround in boys basketball this season, has committed to Marywood University to continue his academic and athletic careers.
Curnow was a first-team Lackawanna League Division 3 all-star selection by NEPABasketball.com.
The 6-foot-4 senior forward was the leader of Lakeland’s improvement from 1-11 to 6-6 in the division. Curnow averaged more than 12 points per game as the top scorer on the Chiefs.
Marywood is coming off its best men’s basketball season ever. The Pacers went 17-11, setting a program record for wins in a season and winning a postseason game for the first time.
Curnow and Bryce Baldwin from Division 4 champion Susquehanna give Marywood a pair of first-team Lackawanna divisional all-stars among its recruiting class.
