Trahjan Krupinski scored 20 points Saturday afternoon to lead Nanticoke to a 70-53 victory over visiting Pittston Area in Wyoming Valley Conference boys basketball.
Krupinski had eight points to help the Trojans to a 20-9 lead after one quarter.
Nate Kreitzer went 9-for-9 from the line while scoring 19 points. Colby Butczynski added 13 points.
The win left Nanticoke alone in the WVC Division 2 lead at 2-0 and improved District 2’s best overall record to 7-0.
Logan Booth had 11 points while Mike George and Matt Johnson scored 10 each for Pittston Area.
Crestwood 50, Meyers 27
Crestwood used the road win to match Hazleton Area at 2-0 for first place in WVC Division 1.
Wyoming Area 54, Wyoming Valley West 49
Host Wyoming Area overcame 20 points by Wyoming Valley West’s Roland Hamad to post the WVC win.
Valley View 56, Old Forge 41
Valley View raced out to leads of 20-4 and 25-6 on the way to a non-league win at home.
Jaden Duplessis and Mark Kudrich finished with 11 points each for the Cougars, who scored the game’s first nine points and never trailed.
After Valley View converted turnovers into the game’s first four points, Janassah Boone hit a 3-pointer from the corner and scored in transition for the 9-0 lead.
The Cougars scored seven straight in a minute late in the quarter on a Bobby Craig 3-pointer, Kudrich transition basket and Dixon Black rebound for the 20-4 lead.
Connor Kelley hit a 3-pointer from the corner to end the first quarter and scored again a minute into the second quarter for a 25-6 lead.
Dante Lucarelli led Old Forge with 14 points.
Holy Redeemer 58, Holy Cross 49
Holy Redeemer went on the road to win the non-league battle between ranked Small Schools.
