Blake Gearhart got Delaware Valley out to an early lead, giving it enough cushion to hold off East Stroudsburg Notre Dame, 42-37, Friday afternoon in a game played at the Barclays Center, home of the National Basketball Association’s Brooklyn Nets.
Gearhart finished with 20 points for Delaware Valley. He had two 3-pointers to finish the first quarter with an 8-1 run to a 12-3 lead.
The Warriors led 23-12 at halftime.
The Timberwolves got within 38-35 late, but Gearhart made a steal and hit two free throws.
Jackson Shafer added 11 points in the win.
Bekim Azemi led Notre Dame with 15 points.
Carbondale 56, Susquehanna 55
Mike Zazzera scored 15 points to lead Carbondale to the non-league win at Susquehanna.
Zazzera went 4-for-6 from the line and scored eight points in the fourth quarter when Ray Ofner added six points.
Ofner and Pat Durkin, who also had a 3-pointer in the quarter, each went 2-for-2 as part of the Chargers shooting 8-for-10 on fourth-quarter free throws.
Durkin finished with 12 points.
Adam Rockwell hit two of his three 3-pointers and scored eight of his 17 points in the fourth quarter for Susquehanna.
C.J. Stone and Bryce Baldwin added 12 points each.
The game was close throughout. Carbondale led 15-14 after one quarter; Susquehanna was up 28-26 at halftime; and they were tied 39-39 going to the fourth quarter.
Riverside 74, Montrose 28
Mike Rickert had 21 points and Razen Reyes added 19 for Riverside in the home-court romp.
Brennan Gilhool led Montrose with nine points.
Lakeland 49, Honesdale 47
Lakeland pulled out its fifth straight victory, winning on the road at Honesdale.
Central Columbia routed Berwick, 60-27. … Maine-Endwell (N.Y.) ripped Blue Ridge, 83-48.
