BOYS ROUNDUP: Gnall, Callahan lead Sem comeback

Dimitri Gnall scored 25 points and Jeremy Callahan added 21 Thursday night as Wyoming Seminary defeated host GAR, 67-59, in a battle of Wyoming Valley Conference boys basketball divisional leaders.

Callahan hit four 3-pointers.

The Blue Knights, the top-ranked Small School Boys team, held on to its lead in Division 3. They are 9-0 in the WVC and 14-1 overall.

GAR lost its share of the Division 2 lead. The Grenadiers are 6-4 and 9-6.

Will Johnson scored 29 points for GAR. Jared O’Day added 14.

The Grenadiers led 20-17 after one quarter and were within 49-48 going to the fourth.

Nanticoke 64, Lake-Lehman 31

Nate Kreitzer hit seven 3-pointers and scored 26 points to lead Nanticoke, which took over sole possession of the WVC Division 2 lead with the crossover win.

The Trojans led 26-4 after one quarter and were never challenged.

Holy Redeemer 56, Berwick 45

Holy Redeemer needed a big fourth quarter to shake off winless Berwick and remain within a game of Wyoming Seminary in WVC Division 2.

Collin Cook scored 20 points and Nick Prociak added 17 in the win.

The Royals led just 41-38 after three quarters.

Zach Evans scored 27 points for Berwick.

Hanover Area 75, Wyoming Area 33

Khairi Carson scored 23 points to lead Hanover Area to the WVC crossover win.

Daniel Wiedl led the Warriors with 11 points.

Meyers 46, MMI Prep 42

Blake Masker’s 12 points led Meyers to the victory in the WVC crossover game.

The Mohawks rallied by outscoring the Preppers, 13-7, in the fourth quarter.

Matt Marchetti led MMI Prep with 17 points.
