BOYS ROUNDUP: Abington Heights tops Valley View

George Tinsley scored 17 points and blocked 3 shots Wednesday night when Abington Heights remained unbeaten in Lackawanna League boys basketball with a 60-53 Division 1 victory over visiting Valley View.

Jack Nealon added 16 points while Trey Koehler had 14 points and 4 assists in the win. Mike Malone grabbed a team-high 9 rebounds while Corey Perkins led in assists with 5.

Marc Kudrich had 25 points to lead Valley View. Zach Kovalchik added 10.

Abington Heights outscored Valley View, 22-12, in the third quarter to stretch a one-point halftime lead to 46-35.

By winning the meeting of teams in the Big School Boys portion of the Astra Wealth Advisors Super Six, top-ranked Abington Heights improved to 7-0 in the league and 13-2 overall. Valley View, which is ranked sixth, is 4-3 and 10-6.

Holy Cross 58, Dunmore 35

Holy Cross moved into a tie for the Lackawanna Division 3 lead with the victory in its first outing since suffering its first league loss of the season.

Riverside 47, Old Forge 39

Michael Rickert scored 20 points as Riverside won the Lackawanna Division 3 rivalry game.
