Honesdale, Susquehanna, Lake-Lehman move in boys next cycle

Honesdale and Susquehanna will be moving up while Lake-Lehman will be moving down in classification in boys basketball, according to the new enrollment figures for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 school years.

The Hornets will from Class 4A to 5A while the Sabers goes from A to 2A. The Black Knights drop from 4A to 3A.

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association collects new three-grade enrollment figures, separated by boys and girls, every two year. Those enrollment numbers determine classifications in which teams will compete for the next two seasons.

The PIAA switched from four classes to six in basketball prior to the 2016-17 season. Once enrollments are determined, it splits statewide teams equally among those six classes.
